Dan Hanks, M.Ed, Ed.S, LMHC

Dan Hanks provides professional, in-person support to individuals, children, adolescents, and families in the Methow Valley. With over 15 years of experience as a professional counselor, school psychologist, school counselor, and therapist, Dan helps clients who have reached a point of awareness that something needs to change.

Many people seek therapy when they recognize they’re struggling - whether with anxiety, depression, life transitions, parenting challenges, ADHD, autism spectrum concerns, or family dynamics - but feel unsure how to move forward. They are looking for an objective guide who will truly listen without judgment, help them gain clarity, create a practical plan, and walk alongside them as they implement meaningful changes.

Dan offers in-person therapy sessions in the Methow Valley, creating a safe and supportive environment where clients feel heard and empowered to thrive.

Offerings

Children & Adolescents

Specializing in supporting school-aged children and teens who may feel overwhelmed, anxious, or misunderstood due to emotional, behavioral, or learning challenges, Da uses a collaborative and strengths-based approach to help young clients build coping skills, improve self-esteem, strengthen social connections, and succeed at school and home.

Adults & Individuals

Dan works with adults navigating major life changes, relationship difficulties, persistent stress, or a sense of feeling stuck. He helps clients explore their experiences, develop healthier patterns of thinking and responding, and move toward greater satisfaction and resilience.

Psycho-Educational Assessments

Dan offers psycho-educational assessments with a particular focus on ADHD and learning challenges. Rather than focusing solely on diagnosis, these evaluations emphasize practical recommendations, targeted interventions, and ongoing counseling supports. The goal is to help individuals better understand their strengths and needs so they can thrive academically, vocationally, and personally.
